Hello Everyone,
Just ordered a 74GB WD Raptor 10,000RPM SATA150 hard drive.
I am not going to use RAID, and I only use about 30GB max on my current drive.
So I thought this would be a nice upgrade from my current Maxtor 7200RPM ATA133 drive.
I was curious what other users experience was with them and how easy was K/Ubuntu 5.10 64bit to setup on a SATA drive.
Thanks,
Joey

Those drives are the best. \\:D/
I installed the 64 bit version on Breezy on mine and it worked a treat.
As you're not going to use RAID, it should be no different to using any other drive.
Well I say that assuming the SATA controller on your mobo is in the kernel, but it should be right? :D

Kewl thanks for the heads up.
I am running kernel 2.6.15, I am fairly sure I built in SATA support. I will double check my configuration. I know KInfoCenter see's the SATA chipset.

Anyone else got any comments? I am wondering about cooling for this drive.

Thanks,
Joey
