I don't know anything about twibbon. But, I can tell you that we don't need to promote UBuntu in Indenti.ca (https://identi.ca/) since the majority of population uses Ubuntu or other GNU/Linux distribution.

Check out their most popular group. It is Ubuntu with 2901 members as the time of this posting.

I thought about using a Twibbon once, but had a privacy concern and also didn't want to change my avatar. Anyone else happy with their current avatar can type hashtags like:

#Karmic #KarmicKoala #Ubuntu

and tweet a link to ubuntu.com. 'whatthetrend' will handle the rest.
