I'm having an issue getting AIGLX enabled with the fglrx module.

I've been unsuccessfully trying to get compiz enabled. After a lot of troubleshooting and googling, I found the "compiz-check" script. After running it I get the following:

Gathering information about your system...

Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04
Desktop environment: GNOME
Graphics chip: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3650
Driver in use: fglrx
Rendering method: None

Checking if it's possible to run Compiz on your system... [SKIP]

Checking for hardware/setup problems... [SKIP]

At least one check had to be skipped:
Error: No rendering method in use (AIGLX, Xgl or Nvidia)
I have the AIGLX options enabled in my xorg.conf file.

What am I missing?

Solved. This is a non-issue.

compiz-check doesn't work well with fglrx.

Also, proir to running

compiz --replace

You need to run

gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager false

Just and FYI in case anyone has the same issue.
