ALIEN where to download and how to install? HELP

I'm a php programmer trying to learn linux and I'm having trouble with installing the alien package on Ubuntu 9.04. I cant find it with synaptic and in the terminal I can find it either. Any suggestions?

sudo apt-get install alien

Just so you know -- if you're installing alien in the hopes of using rpm's instead of deb's -- don't be surprised if that doesn't work well. My experience with rpms has been mixed -- some work, most don't. It's not a "miracle cure" for using rpm's instead of deb's.
