Hi friends,
I installed Ubuntu 8.x on my system. After installation, how to get the root password, as most of the files are created with root.

Please do the needful.

You should just use sudo.

there is no root password in ubuntu, unless you specifically created one.

If you have a legitimate reason to log in as root, then you would already know how to do it. The root password is disabled by default in Ubuntu. Using sudo before any commands give root priviledge.

It is also against forum policy to discuss ways of enabling the root password in Ubuntu. Again if you really have a need for it then you would already know how to do it.
