I keep downloading the Ubuntu iso from the ubuntu website, however when i launch Wubi.exe it keeps giving me an option to only install Kubuntu... but i didnt even download that?

Try Just Downloading Wubi.exe and let it manage itself from their... I see your a New Linux user... Welcome (:.... Linux Is a Bit hard to setup once it is Done you will be GLAD u came here (:
