Like kleenex, photoshoped (the verb) is already in the language. Tad too late to change it once it has been accepted generally and used.

I think GIMPed (all caps or not) is the best term because it's the shortest. And it never hurts to get more people to use open source. :)

Usually I say editted photo, I don't say photoshopped because in Portuguese (I'm from Brazil) you can't use words like that as adjectives as you do in English.

depends on the picture.

If I made it I might say GIMPed.
If it was made better I'd say fixed.
If it wasn't made better... but still isn't original I'd changed.
And if it was made to fool someone (introducing a foreign object to the original image but trying to make everyone belief it was there to begin with) I'd say it has been altered.

I never say photoshopped.

Photoshop is a bit like Google. It's nearly universal for what it's used for, so much so that the name has become a verb.

I agree. 'shopped. It has dual meaning. Photoshopped and also "put through the shop" like a photo chop shop.

Also, "Gimped" is already a word with a completely different denotation. I would have hurt feelings is someone told me a shopped picture I made was gimped.
