HI i am new to ubuntu and need a little help.

everytime i try to update using the update manager it says there are 15 updates available. when i try to update these i get the message:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-image-2.6.24-22-lpia_2.6.24-22.45netbook9_lpia.deb: files list file for package `libffi4' contains empty filename

i also get this message when trying to install new applications.

i have looked through this forum for a solution but as yet havnt found any.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Mark
