Hello,

I am new with Ubuntu and generally with Linux.

I just burned the Ubuntu 9.0.4 desktop to a CD and in the menu chose "Try Ubuntu without any changes to your computer".

After couple of minutes I got:

*Loading hardware drivers
init: rc-default main process (3023) terminated with status 127

I also tested the cd structure and it is fine.

What may be the problem?

Thanks.

Hi ronoz,

What kind of system do you have (graphics card, etc.)? Also, did you run the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the live! cd? You may want to consider trying Ubuntu 9.10 beta desktop (http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/9.10/). Although it's still in the beta stages of development, the newer version of Ubuntu includes newer drivers, and may offer better support for your hardware.

Goodluck!

I installed the 32bit version.
The system is intel based with asus motherboard and nVidia 7100 graphic card. This is a very "regular" system nothing special.

I'll try the 9.1 but I will be happy to hear some more suggestions.

Thanks.
