Hi,

I am a new user to Ubuntu. Recently installed it, & tonight I have got my wireless connection up & running

(other PC is WIN XP)...

this PC has Ubuntu 8 (something).

just a few questions.

1) I have found the ścreen resolution area - & tried both - This is the smaller screen size, & i went to the internet & all the graphics are too wide for the height.

(the other resolution made everything too big & i couldnt use it properly)..

2) Is there a way I can test / check if my PC has a sound card installed (& activate it ?)

so far, I have no sound.

3) How do I check for things like RAM / Processor speeds etc on Ubuntu ?

4) How do i check if I have gnome ubuntu ? I think its the one I have (added to prefix)

Thanks - Iĺl ask more later
