I have downloaded 9.04 version. Which file on my computer should this be stored in becuase as it stands right now I don't have the dual boot option at start up?

If you have downloaded the ISO, you need to burn that to a disc to install. If you want to upgrade, you need to follow this (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading) guide. If you have downloaded with Windows and just want to try it, have a look at Wubi (http://wubi-installer.org/), this will allow you try try it withough messing around with your partitions.
