I no longer can open synaptic, it gives me this error:
E: The package ubuntustudio-default-settings needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E: Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.



Help is greatly appreciated.

apt-get works, however update-manager crashes with the same problem as synaptic.

Please wrap that log in code tags ;) ([ code ]).

You could test this:
sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/ubuntustudio-default-settings* && sudo aptitude -f remove && sudo dpkg --configure -a
