I have to agree with the second poster--default is what this browser was meant for. Even in Ubuntu brown back drop, it looks and feels just right.

Actually with Ubuntu Brown the Dolce & Gabbana Theme looks the best.

What about Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku doesn't interest me. I don't understand the huge following and worshipping (there's tons of wallpapers of her and her crew flooding konachan) as she's not that cute. I'd rather have a moeblob theme than a boring theme.

Personally, I love the Zen Spring theme, particularly when I use Chromium without the system title bar. (With its own title bar). I have it that way on my netbook.
A lot of themes go way too far in recolouring everything, adding really jarring repeating background pictures to the new tab page and that kind of horrible stuff. Zen Spring is much more subtle and elegant than the usual.

https://tools.google.com/chrome/intl/en/themes/theme_zenspring.html

However, I am using the Feedly extension now, which adds a blue coloured icon to the toolbar regardless of what theme I'm using. Thus, I must use the default theme so it doesn't look horribly jarring. It's okay, though, because the default theme is fine for me and Feedly is awesome!

If I didn't want human interaction, I could just do Google searchs all day long. :P

But the GTK option doesn't actually match the Ubuntu Theme for some reason. It's all okay except that the color of the title bar isn't used.

I think the purple above the tabs in Chrome would match better if it was the same as the title bars of the other Ubuntu or gtk apps.

Is there a Ubuntu Human theme?

I just use the standard Human theme that comes with Ubuntu and would like Chrome to look that way... could find it...

And if I configure it to use GTK it looks purple! ](*,)

Mine looks purple too! On two machines (Karmic) and on one machine (Which is Ubuntu Studio Karmic) the colors are matched perfectly. I'd love to know how to change this. There is obviously something somewhere that can be tweaked :)

I saw in my inbox that Google Chrome Beta for Linux was released. Do I need to download it or will my unstable Chrome be updated automatically? (Google repository is one of my "software sources")

Also, is the purple-GTK-theme issue fixed in the beta?

I just blasted the PPS repo out of my software sources now that Google has officially released a beta. The alpha I was using was getting on my nerves, really glad Beta is finally here.

Late Night (https://tools.google.com/chrome/intl/en/themes/theme_latenight.html).

The only thing I don't like is the text color on the inactive tabs: Light grey on slightly-less-light grey. May be due to my system colors, I dunno yet.

Actually, as far as I know, chrome=chromium+google branding. Using the daily ppa you can have the most up to date version of chrome minus some branding...(is that right??)

Also, I use the Tiesto theme. It fits nicely with the upper panel in gnome-shell

I'm sure you're right, but I wasn't using the daily builds, just the unstable version (I think they are different... at least it wasn't prompting for an update every day).

I'm also using beta and this thing is f**kin' fast and stable. It opens in less than a second and has a memory footprint ~10MB less than FF at startup. Google did it again.

On the other hand, any ideas on the 'Use GTK+ theme' looks purple issue?

I found this: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/chromium-browser/+spec/chromium-human-theme

But don't see a solution yet...
