I want to install Ubuntu 9.04 on to a computer that has an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4500.

Should I install the 32 or the 64 bit version of Ubuntu 9.04?

Unless you have some very specific reason for not doing so - always run the 64bit Linux distro on the 64bit hardware.

My 2 pence,

I always install 64-bit Operating Systems if I have a 64-bit processor, but you only really need 64-bit if you have more then 4GB of RAM.

4gigs >= gigs. Also you get the full potential out of your 64bit processor running the 64bit environment.

Thanks, 64 bit it is. I was just put off by the AMD thing.

Yea, I really wish they would stop using that everywhere. Its just AMD was the first to have the 64bit processor.
