eval command not found

I am looking for the eval command. Man pages suggest it should exist and I cannot install a certain software without it. I did a full scan and it is not there. I have ubuntu 9.0.4.---regards, WER

Hi there,

Eval isn't a command ... it's implemented internally by most shells (eg bash), the same way utilities like for, cd, let & so on are. You won't find it in your filesystem.
