Mini notebooks + Ubuntu?

Anyone using a Dell Mini Notebook 10.1"? I'm in Japan, so I don't get to hear much of reputations of certain computers. In this country, it's only available with Windows XP, the Home edition... in Japanese. I've got a 12GB memory stick that I plan to install Ubuntu onto and use that as my English lang' OS. Any problems?

Also, my wife's discovered that Fujitsu and Hitachi have cheap mini notebooks, too. Any prob's with them and Ubuntu on memory stick?

This (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam) would be the place to look. Really, the barrier to entry is so low (install to a USB drive), why not try for yourself?

It should run fine.

Make sure your USB install has persistent changes else you'll have a default installation each time you boot off it and not be able to save any settings/documents etc.
