Notification of updates available in 9.04

When running 8.04, I got an icon in the bar at the top of my screen when updates were available. After updating to 9.04, that feature does not happen. Is there some place to turn on the notification icon?

In System > Administration > Software Sources on the tab, Updates, I have Check for Updates set to every two days and Only notify about available updates selected.

Press alt+F2 > type 'gconf-editor' (no quotes) > apps > update-notifer > uncheck auto_launch

Thanks. Seems quite counter-intuitive, but I've unchecked the box. We'll see if the notification icon appears in the next few days.
