I want to install Ubuntu to an old Dell Power Edge 2600 at work. I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle.
Putting any CD in the drive except for the OMSA cd results in:
No boot device available -
Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for Setup utility.
Of course the CD drive is enabled and at the top of the boot order. I've disabled booting to the HD for the moment, just to avoid frustration having to shut down the OS when it doesn't work.
As stated the only CD that will boot is the OMSA cd, which wants to help me install Windows, Redhat or CentOS.
I can see plenty of people on the forum seem to be running ubuntu on PE boxes, but the howto's don't go basic enough to cover this.
Clearly its a stupid mistake on my part! - Still help would be gratefully recieved
