I've downloaded the ubuntu through wubi, very happy and i've installed everything i could possibly find for updates then downloaded wine. BUT, i am still not able to download basic programs(flash player, my wireless usb drivers, winzip,) off of the i-net or from cd. It always says archive type not supported.

Right click on an .exe file and select open with wine. I also suggest seeing if a driver is availible under system>administration. hardware drivers.

This thread will help you set up alot of what you need for normal use, such as java, flash, ect. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=766683

Someone else may be able to give you other, or more in depth help but these are things ive figuired out or found myself looking around here. (And alot of guess and check, followed by reinstal lol)

I've looked in my drivers and nothing else is there except nvidia, which is activated.
