how about tar -cvf </path/archive.tar> <files and/or wildcards>


?

That works everywhere tar works, including ubuntu.

The user who requested the video only wanted to know how to do a simple tar of the file or files then un tar it and run

umm...I'm pretty sure that is a feature of gnome...not ubuntu

sudo apt-get install atool
apack -aeF tar directory
