Desktop resolution

Hi. I hooked up my computer to my TV and it messed up the resolution and I can change it back. :(
please help.

Please, it will help if you tell us which version of Ubuntu you're running, the model of you graphic card and what steps you tried to fix it (like, did you go to System > Preferences > Display?).

Never mind I fixed it. For some reason it wasn't showing up with the resolution i needed and then all of a sudden it showed up. :confused: and sorry for not posting all that stuff i'm kind of new to ubuntu and I just recently found out about this site.
