Hi. I need help from someone who knows linux and would like to guide me through an offline install of Java JRE, if possible. I have no internet. A friend of mine burned me a CD of Ubuntu and I got that installed on my desktop. I have tried the directions on the Java website. They are incomplete. If I run the java .bin file, it will extract itself in the desktop and not link itself to .jar files. For starters, I have no idea the commands to copy the file into the /usr/ directory. I created a root pwd. I have no idea if the program links itself to .jar files during the install, or if I have to do something extra. Sun Microsys is very unclear about that. Please let me know.

-for the apt-get fans-
Apt-get only works with an INTERNET CONNECTION NOR DO I HAVE ACCESS.

And please don't just tell me to get one either.
