Why J2EE application hangs

I would like to know all of the possible reasons that would make a J2EE application hang.

That's a very generic question and I doubt you'll get an answer. Does your J2EE environment have a system log file? What environment do you use (e.g. JBoss)?

I don't have this scenario. I am very interested in hearing others accounts/experiences just out of interest and hopefully starting an interesting thread etc...

Really depends on your definition of "hang". There are many (and varying) components/technologies involved in the development and deployment of a JEE application. You need to be more specific.
