Hi,

I need to install subversion 1.6. This is the stable version on other distros and has been for quite some time.

In other distros, you can specify a single package (usually winds up being a few packages) which you are willing to use an unstable version, or tailor the version to within a range. Can we do this with Ubuntu?

I've tried the docs for a while, didn't see it. If you have a reference to this, I'm perfectly willing to read the docs. I just can't seem to find the docs.

Thanks.

Does anyone know why Subversion 1.6 is not on the Ubuntu stable build? This is really frustrating.

I'm trying to avoid getting out of sync with the package manager, but I may have to. I'm not as familiar with debian as I am with other distributions, so I'm unsure how to "convince" apt/synaptic to load 1.6 without messing things up too much.

Thanks.
