I didn't know there were such a thing as CyberBunker (http://www.cyberbunker.com/) :)

Another interesting article about similar data centers:

Note: Please don't turn this thread into a piracy supportive discussion, otherwise it will probably be closed.

That's some really bad Photoshop in that pic.

That's some really bad Photoshop in that pic. Where????

Bunkers do look like that, you know. Camouflage painting and all that to blur out the exact shape of the main bunker and all that. And if the bunker was sold then there is no reason why the new owners should not put their own logo over the entrance.

Want to buy a Swiss bunker? Most of the WW2 era ones are on sale these days.

I find this one especially cute ... they tried to make it look like a group of trees.

More photos of weird camouflaged Swiss bunkers here:

The branding looks decidedly like it's been shopped onto the vehicle and the bunker afterwards. In fact, their site in general is a bit of a travesty. Animated .gifs? Looks like it's fallen through a hole in time from the 90's.

Someone explain this to me, I thought they all went to jail.

Then I thought they sold the "company".

So, how can a company, that was sold, run by inmates, have moved to Netherlands. Please explain.

But then again that picture is low-res ... maybe it was 'shopped, maybe not. Or maybe the guy who took the photo is in need of a new camera because all his pictures are so blurry that no matter what he photographs it will look like a 3-year old 'shopped it ... :)

Let's just hope the TPB servers are for real ...

"Are our servers installed yet ... ?"
"Uhmm ... yeah. Let me send you a picture of your new server room ... "

"Uhmmm ... why do all these servers look the same? And why are they so blurry .... ?"

:D

They appealed. In their appeal quite a few people have so far been kicked down for bias via being on the payroll of the prosecution. Also, the deal with that buyer fell through as a major scam and the company was delisted.

So, how can a company, that was sold, run by inmates, have moved to Netherlands. Please explain. They are neither in jail and neither did they sell TPB. It turned out that the wannabe buyer was broke ... so the deal was never concluded. And the TPB guys are still walking around freely because their lawyers do an amazing job at fighting through every court instance, so no matter what any judge has decided yet none of those decisions are final yet.

Well, either full-scale thermonuclear war has broken out, or the bunker can't survive the traffic generated by the article, but TPB is down for me. (And for some of the posters in the article.)

I think he was a fraud all along and knew he could never raise the money. It was more probably a sad story of insider trading.

but TPB is down for me. The Dutch equivalent of the MPAA which is called "BREIN" is trying some legal tricks to keep TPB offline, e.g. they are bombarding the TPB's new provider with injunctions and what not ... and according to the TPB's own blogs there are some technical problems too. So all this is a delay at best.

Several other torrent sites around the world have downloaded copies of the TPB's archives, so even if the original TPB is down for the moment there are plenty of mirrors around. If you know how to operate Google you will easily find them. Unfortunately I think it would be illegal to post a direct link and probably a violation of forum policy too .... So ... You will have to use Google. But trust me when I say that there are several mirrors out there.

TPB is like a hydra. Shut it down and seven new mirrors will come online.

IMHO the content industry is stupid. Instead of suing people they should explore new business models. In Germany it was suggested that ISP's offer a "filesharing tax flatrate". I think that's a brilliant idea. Here is how it would work: You'd pay your ISP e.g. 10$ per month on top of what you already pay. Those 10$ are a "filesharing tax". The ISP gives those 10$ as compensation to MPAA/RIAA/IFPI or whoever thinks is entitled to that money .... and in return you cannot be sued for whatever you download. Result: content industry makes profits again, they get paid for P2P traffic, they don't even have to bother about distributing their content (TPB would continue to handle that part ... :-) ) and you don't have to fear to be criminalised or sued or whatever. Both sides win.

But of course the content industry is too limited to see the benefits of such a solution and instead they insist on continuing their hopeless battle ....

They are not making profits now? If you believe their whining they lose trillions and trillions every year.

Yeah, LOL :lolflag:

It's for this very reason why I find the fines that are being dealt out to people who get caught so incredibly ridiculous. If I were to copy 20 albums then I definitely did not cause them a loss of 750'000$ ... Not 50'000$ ... Not 5'000$ ... Probably not even 500$ .... Most likely no loss at all. It's just they didn't earn anything from me. But for the content industry this "not earning" is equal to "stolen money".

So yes ... they are making losses right now. At least that's what they will claim if you ask people at IFPI and so on.

Ridiculous. I know. :D
