ubuntu USB Stick won't autologin

I was trying to install ubuntu 8.10 on my computer via USB stick, but all it does is go to the ubuntu login screen and wait for a login, since this is a startup disk created by ubuntu, there is no user/pass that I can use. I could some help solving this one](*,), thanks.:guitar:

Is the problem you have that the USB stick boots to a login screen, instead of an installation menu? How did you create the USB stick?
