My Monitor on My Laptop is not being recognized after installs.

So im fairly new to ubuntu- i have a book on getting used to it.
And the author recommended installing EnvyNG- to find compatible drivers for my ATI graphics card.

So i did and it asked to restart.
And now my computer display will not recognize my monitor. Any Solutions???? Thanks
