Hi all,

I have a dell box equipped with AMD Athlon 64 bit, Optiplex 740 and an NVIDIA graphics card.
I tried to boot it with the Live CD (for the 64bit) and it shows the normal horizontally moving sign, and then throws me to a command line interface asking me to feed some commend to the kernel.

I tried to pass several parameters to the kernel while booting (noacpi, nolapic, nosmp, acpi=force) but to no avail.

Any hints?

Just a SWAG here, but do you another vid card you can poke in it ?? I don't have Nvidia video but I've seen several posts where they take some coaxing to make them work so that would be my first guess.

If that gets the install going you can at least use Ubuntu while you sort out how to make your Nvidia card work.

Yeah that's what I was talking about. Can you maybe scrounge one from somebody ??

I don't have an answer specific to the command line install. I'm getting too old to keep track of too much command line stuff.
