View Full Version : [all variants] Some video not working in Flash 10,0,32,18

The Flash 10 .deb off of the Adobe website has been great to me, until this URL (and the others on the CBC site):
http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Shows/The_Hour/ID=1283050387

It works on my Mac but for some reason doesn't work on any of my Ubuntu machines. Any insight? I'm currently running 10,0,32,18 which I believe is the newest version.

I'm open to manual workarounds if required.

It seems to be loading the video by RTMP in the background:
rtmp://cp37429.edgefcs.net/ondemand/?auth=daFc5dBd2cYbUaydWcnbEcSdaaxancOaIcr-bkYR3Q-T-sns_GsnZAjGrFCy&aifp=v0001&slist=netstorage<break>netstorage/The_Hour-2009-10-03.flv

That's something I haven't seen before. Not sure what to make of it.

I'm can't watch video on the cbc.ca/video website either :(

I'm running the 64 bit version of Ubuntu - and I recall reading somewhere about flash probs with 64 bit..... can/do any 32 bit users (or other 64 bit users) watch the video on http://cbc.ca/video

I appreciate any help that anyone can provide,

thanks,

Pat

I have three machines all running the 32 bit version and none of them play video on cbc.ca/video but seem to work fine everywhere else.

I actually got this escalated really high up in the CBC and got some responses. All of them were good and informed, but pretty much said there isn't enough demand to make testing on Linux worth their while.

Email or write the CBC and complain! Make it worth their while! I implore you!

Thank you for your feedback Kimos. Hopefully all other Canadians who are having this problem will do the same.
