I had to drop Compiz on my laptop because the GPU (Intel Extreme 2) was just not cutting the cake anymore, and went to Metacity. I enabled the compositor in Metacity via gconf-editor, and all the drop shadows work as I like them, without killing my GPU (my GPU wouldn't even scroll smoothly with Compiz).
However, when I log out and come back in, the top panel has no shadow. If I go in and disable the metacity compositor and reenable it, the shadow comes back. This is begining to become a pain.
Is there a fix for this? Thanks!
Latest Ubuntu and everything, always run Update Manager.
