Was wondering if their is a GUI based Touchpad utility for KDE 4.# yet? I usually disable my touchpad and just use a mouse sense it can be a pain when typing. I have a Dell Touchpad uses the Alps Dell Touch Pad driver in windows. (And TouchFreeze has never worked for me in KDE 4.# when I tried it.)

If there is, I certainly can't find it. I've looked everywhere, and I mean everywhere.

How could something like this be so overlooked by developers?

A question I have asked myself too.

Oh well I guess I'll just stick with Gnome then. Eats less ram then KDE (yes even 4.3 for those who may whine.) or so that's been my experience with it.

I find KDE 4.3 uses less resources than GNOME. It just goes to show that certain unpredictability that linux tends to have.

I agree that this is a major oversight. It's the only thing that keeps me from switching to KDE. But, give the developers some credit: KDE is gorgeous!

I hope they get to trackpads soon.

alot of things are overlooked in kde... for example many plasmoids don't work right, like ublog, and things like scrolling on the desktop to switch desktops can't be disabled. That latter wouldn't be so bad if scrolling wasn't so jumpy in kde.

Awesome thanks! KCM is just what I was looking for! Can't wait until the disable touchpad while external mouse is plugged in option is developed into it! ^.^ (Karmic Users have to use its Jaunty Repo which works just fine.)
