Problems with Apt

Hey, i was using synaptic, and i installed some packages from the safe ubuntu repository, and they don't show up in my gnome menu. How can i fix that?

Did you restart Gnome?

Those icons are prolly created, but gnomes needs to be restarted to actually add those to the menu items.

restarting gnome without rebooting?
ctrl + alt + backspace -> gdm comes back up -> give in username and password

Also, try adding them manually, go to applications menu, then to th eg. Internet, then right click -> Entire menu -> Add new Item...
