So far, their something weird going on...

I got a 7mb/s DSL line in my house.

i tested it with the internap servers by downloading something from sourceforge.
got 6mb/s all the way.

Then, i went to upgrade ubuntu to karmic.

32kb/s

now, each time i turn my modem off and back on, the speed of the download spikes to 6mb/s, then within a few minutes, it drops back to 32kb/s

help?
i realllyyy don't wanna download 20 hours (thats what it says on the upgrade-manager)

and noone else is downloading (i directly plugged the modem into my laptop)
nothing else thats running is using the internet either.

There are tons of people like You, downloanding the beta and doing upgrades, so maybe the servers are just too busy.

On a side note 7 Mb/s OMG!!!!!

It's probably just on Ubuntu's end, especially if downloads on other sites are going full speed :)

Give it time, it'll pick up :)

Try using software sources to select the best source.

Select Sweden. They should have dirty fast servers.

Maybe we can use the particle accelerator to handle space/time/megabytes teletransportation

In Software Sources click select Other from the server drop down and click the Select Best Server button. It will test all the servers and show you the fastest one.

Software Sources can test that:

At "Download from" select "Other" and click the "Select Best Server" button.
