View Full Version : [ubuntu] install ubuntu on partitioned HDD (ntfs)

Hi,

I have 2 hdd the first one is Vista and 2nd is without a OS [2 partitions ntfs].

HDD2
Partition 1 is empty and i want to put Ubuntu on it, but the second partition is full and i cant really backup it.

when i prepare to install Ubuntu it does not recognise the second partition... how do i do this?

You can't "install" Ubuntu to an NTFS formatted partition; you need a partition formatted Ext3 or Ext4.
