Installing a package with .run extension

How do I install a package (nVidia driver) with a .run extension?

It's better to install nvidia drivers using envy:

But .run files are often exectuables, just open a terminal, and type:

sudo
followed by a space, then drag the .run file onto the terminal, press enter and follow instructions.
