check it out! (http://d0od.blogspot.com/2009/10/install-font-ubuntu-easy.html)
I have some questions! does it install all font formats?
Can I download any fonts from the internet and use them with the font installer?
can someone post more screen shots?

It seems to cover .ttf by the screenshot, most fonts have the .ttf extension.

.ttf is open type right?
I will give it a try as soon as 9.10 is released! :)

Too advanced, for newbies is just too complex.

OpenType is based on TrueType, they aren't one in the same, OpenType is just b/c with TTF.

Right. OpenType is a MS extension of TrueType, and it's not even used nearly as much as TTF, anyway.

TTF is anything but open. This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueType#Linux_and_other_platforms) is what Wikipedia has to say about FreeType's implementation of TTF standards:

There are potential patent infringements in FreeType because parts of the TrueType hinting virtual machine were patented by Apple, a fact not mentioned in the TrueType standards. And for all the MS bashers, notice that Apple is the culprit this time. Macs aren't any more ethical to use than Windows PC's.
