I currently got a second Ati Radeon HD 4870 for my crossfire Motherboard and when I put it in, it worked well in windows but ubuntu didn't want to boot up the Graphical User Interface. I was wondering why it would do this, it already had fglrx installed. I took the second card out (the card I left is the new one) and Ubuntu is working just fine. Can anyone tell me why it would do this?

Did you try google first? Saves a lot of time instead of waiting for a reply.

Googled "crossfire ubuntu"

Ok thanks. It says that ubuntu doesn't support crossfire x. I reinstalled the OS and it is now working well with both graphic cards. I have almost everything back to how I like it.

aticonfig --help is your friend for getting crossfire up and running.
