View Full Version : [ubuntu] Dual Monitor Problems

I have been running dual monitors successfully for a year or more. I believe when I originally set them up, I did so using aticonfig and big desktop. I logged in today to find my monitors mirroring each other instead of being one large desktop. I can't seem to get back to the good old days.

When I attempt to run aticonfig, I get:

[~]$ sudo aticonfig --dtop=horizontal --screen-layout=right

Error: Options, e.g. --dtop and --desktop-setup, are not supported when RandR 1.2 is enabled!
Using /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Saved back-up to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.fglrx-11

As well, when I try to bring up System>Preferences>Display I get the attached screenshot.

I'm getting closer? My displays are no longer mirrored, however, each display has it's own menu. Opening apps from either menu opens them on my left monitor and I CANNOT drag windows between monitors.
