Any experts using audacity?
I am having a question regarding audacity posted on the multimedia production category.
Any other audacity equivalents with more options and easier interface?
Does audacity crash often on your pc?

You could try Ardour, which has more features, but a more complex interface.
Also try Jokosher, and Sweep.

Me too! The interface is non-intuitive to say the least and it totally messes up my sound system -- have to reboot to get it working again.

I'll be checking out Jokosher, and Sweep, thanks for the suggestions.

Does anyone know how to change the pitch of a song gradually in audacity?

One weird thing, audacity does not crash on windows xp yet.

To lower the pitch gradually you need to use Audacity 1.3.x and add a time track. You can then use the envelope tool in the time track to adjust the speed ("Mix and Render" the track to make the pitch change permanent, then remove the time track so that it does not affect other tracks).

Note that this will change the playback speed, so it adjusts both pitch and tempo - it's like slowing down or speeding up a record.Check Google too:
