Update from 8.1 to 9.04

Hi there,

I have one quick question about updating. If I update, will I have to reinstall all of the programs I have. In the last few months, I have personnalized Ubuntu to my liking. Will this have to be redone ? And more to the point, is the update worthwhile since everything is running nicely under 8.1 ?

No you won't have to reinstall all your apps. I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 without a problem.

If you upgrade most of your setting will remain the same you don't need to reinstall, however if some of the programs installed are not supported in the version 9.04 then you will be stuck but most work.

Upgrade if you really must as the your version is still being supported you might wait little more.
