HI All

i would like the function of opening PDF in Firefox, i did some research and found that this function comes in the form of a plugin for firefox, so i followed the links on the mozilla sight which took me to the abobe sight, i downloaded the file and saved it to my desktop,

the mozilla page was
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7

the adobe page was
http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/

the resulting file name is
AdbeRdr9.1.2-1_i486linux_enu.bin

now i thought i know how to install it, (obviously not though). so how do i install this into firefox to be able to open pdf in firefox?

many thanks

ah, also i've just graduated university with a First Class Honors Degree in sound engineering, dose anyone know of any jobs going, in the field of loudspeakers and acoustics?

I can't seem to find an "internet" option under preferences...

Good, I'm glad it's not just me. I tried that plugin too, and it won't open it within the actual firefox window. I want it to just come up as if it's a web page.

Have you installed acroread? That's all I need to do to be able to read PDFs in Firefox.

Yep, I finally just figured that out. Another problem of mine was the fact that I'm x64. So I was just downloading adobe reader in a bin and couldn't get it to install. I finally went into synaptic, selected acroread, in included nswrapperplug or whatever it is automatically, and installed it for me. Then I just had to go into my "Applications" in firefox preferences, search for "pdf", then select "Use Adobe Reader 9.1(in firefox)". Piece of cake really.
