I read couple of months ago that the Linux penguin logo will change to a rat logo.
Is this true? why do they want to change it? How will this benefit the users?
More info please.

They have changed it for the Tasmanian Devil only for the 2.6.29 release, because it is about to be extinct. It is Tux penguin again.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tux#Tuz

i love Tux.

there needs to be a LiveCD video game distribution (like live.linux-gamers (http://live.linux-gamers.net/) distro) that features every game with Tux in it.

I just read about it on Wikipedia and stuff, don't worry they're not going to become extinct, they are just endangered but I think they'll pull through :)

This one certainly isn't going down without a fight:

Define ignorance. Name one species of animal more than a few thousand years old that has survived. His post is accurate.

I dunno man, but I think sometimes it's nice to save an animal just because you like it, or want to do a good thing, or because you were the one that put it in that situation in the first place O.O you know?

Or more accurately name one millennia that a species didn't go extinct, considering there are number who have survived for a lot longer. Alligators/Crocodiles for one, And their is some kinda of creature (which on surface could be mistaken for a rock in the water) that has been around sense even before plants first colonized land, haven't heard of anything else that old. Though their is the Coelacanth, which goes back pretty far and apparently hasn't changed over time. (DNA structure must be right where it needs to be for it I guess, no improvement if none is needed. ^.^ But its case is a rarity.) Otherwise though extinction is relatively common.
