Look into Virtualbox (http://www.virtualbox.org/). You can install any operating system you want in Virtualbox.

Ubuntu is based on Debian. If you're using Ubuntu, you're basically using Debian, too.

Some more information about your question/problem would be useful... what are your goals with this project?

Not sure I understand. Ubuntu is a Debian-based Linux distribution. Did you want to install a dual boot with Debian and Ubuntu?

Thanks, my problem is I need to run a program that requires an older kernel (2.4.1) and apparently 2.4 series kernel is not supported on Ubuntu but it is supported on Debian. That is why I need to run this special program in Debian environment.

VirtualBox would be my solution in that situation.
