Where do minimized apps go if you have no panels or dock bar? I've got myself set up to show the main menu w/ super+space, so launching isn't a problem. Anyway- looking at some of those "clean" desktops on the screenshot threads had me wondering.

Thanks,
BM

You can set it for minimize as desktop icons on XFCE.. I believe you can do the same on kde or gnome ..

well they are still there but just hidden (SORT OF SENDING THEM TO THE BACKGROUND). its like when you do a ps x command you see all those processes running which you didn't know were running. even if you remove the panels the prgrams are still running , you can always bring them back by Alt+tab

in fact sometimes you can't bring them back with alt+tab .. some of them stick only to the system tray, like amsn .. as my sys tray doesn't like amsn very much, I have to kill it every time I click close for accident .. still looking for a way to get them back myself..
