How to install gnome 2.28

Thanks for that but it doesn't really help me. Because of I have never upgraded Gnome before I sort of a need a step-by-step guide.

For all that i have read, compile and install gnome 2.28, from source is a pain, and i haven't find any explicit guide to do the instalation, in Karmic Koala it will be the default... maybe you can wait a litle.... :)
