I recently installed Ubuntu Studio 9.04 alongside a Jaunty installation and windows Vista and windows 7 beta. It installed without errors, but when I boot into it, it almost gets there but sometimes switches to verbose mode and says things like:

tty1 main process ended, respawning
tty1 terminated with status 255
Unable to execute "/sbin/getty" for tty1

Sometimes it says I/O Error

And sometimes it actually boots up. I log in, and see nothing but a black screen with a mouse cursor.

It's a 32-bit installation, and I have a Core 2 Duo, but the 32-bit versions of Ubuntu Jaunty, Vista, and 7 work just fine, so I don't think that's the problem, but I could be wrong.

I would really like to enjoy what UbuntuStudio has to offer, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Is the Ubuntu Studio install on a separate drive from the other OS installs?

Also did you check the burnt install CD to ensure that no errors are present on the disk? You could do that check by booting up the cd and then selecting the "Check Install CD" option in the menu.
