Touch Screen on laptop not working

hi there, just installed jaunty on an Itronix IX-260+ and everything seems to be working fine except for the touch screen.Every time I try to use or touch the monitor screen, it freezes the system. this works fine under XP and it has synaptics for its driver. could somebody help me out on this one...please:(...thanks...

Touch Screen support is quite new....

Thanks for the info and i guess I have use without the touch screen function for now. Everything else works fine so I do think I could live with this...:)...Thanks again....
