View Full Version : [ubuntu] What happens when you run linux server without enough RAM?

So my old motherboard is incapable of going past 64mb ram no matter what I do. I think 256mb ram is required to run the live CD and a minimum of 128mb to run linux server.
So what happens if you try to do it anyway without meeting the requirements? Does it not work at all or does it move very slowly or is it unstable and crash a lot? I really don't care if its slow as long as it works. It's just a toy. I'm not planning on using it for anything important. I just don't have any other free computer available that has more ram capabilities for this.

No,read this. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements)You should be able to run server with that ram.
