Mozilla Firefox 3.5 on 8.04

I tried many procedures suggested online. With no success yet.

I need to install safely and at system level the Firefox 3.5.

My Ubuntu is 8.04

Hope someone can give me directions.

Edit: duplicate link of above. Works for me on two different instances of Hardy 8.04.

Thanks. I used the following method:

It works but it carries a major draw back:

it does not update the Synaptic Package Manager. There, I still see the former version: 3.08

I do not have any idea how to make the 3.5 visible in there.
