this is a repost as I can't find last post-probably a wetware problem

hello friends:
I'm new to Ubuntu and
I believed in the" I'll still love you in the morning promises" of
simplicity and ease of installation
I still haven't got ubuntu onto my machine-
anx86 1024MB of ram with a clean enough hard drive to accept the info

Ive tried using wubi and lubi as well as multiple downloads of
hardy heron now renamed by me to foolhardy-heron
I've check to see if the iso on my cd is the same as the download- it is.- 715078
All I can produce- ubuntu wise-
u cannot download meta link therefore iso too
any suggestions
Thanks
Kam

fixed
hurrah
the answer was to boot from the cd-not access the cd from windows

use the function keys to facilitate this on initial boot up
the watch the fun begin!
Nice to have a place to vent
